Darfur followups: Geneina
Two guards of the head of the Civil Administration, Tajani Karshum, were killed, and Karshum himself was injured, following a strike on the local government headquarters in West Darfur, according to field sources in the area.
Sources told “Darfur followups” that the attack occurred while Karshum and several officials were inside the headquarters, resulting in the immediate death of the two guards and injuries to others.
The source added that a drone launched from the Tineh area, the base of the joint forces, targeted the government headquarters, causing powerful explosions and extensive damage around the site.
West Darfur has been under the control of the Rapid Support Forces for several months, following intense battles that led to the collapse of government institutions and the displacement of thousands of civilians.
