Darfur Follow-up: Elfasher

In an urgent appeal, the SLMA calling for the urgent intervention of regional and international organizations to provide life-saving necessities to save the lives of those displaced from the ongoing fighting in El Fasher, and to provide them with the necessary tools, resources, and skills to enable them to become self-reliant.

In the statement, which was marked “its Time for Help,” it was noted that the two-year war between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) has forced many defenseless citizens from various Sudanese states to seek refuge in areas under the movement’s control for security and safety reasons.

The movement was working to receive the massive waves of displaced persons and made every effort to provide security, while host communities shared everything they had with the displaced.

The movement’s civilian authority worked to organize shelter camps for millions of displaced persons, despite the scarcity of available resources. As a result, the movement made numerous appeals to regional organizations.

and international organizations, but to no avail. As fighting intensifies in North Darfur state, causing mass displacement to the Tawila and Jebel Marra areas and a massive increase in the number of displaced persons, the movement issues an urgent appeal to regional and international organizations to urgently intervene to meet the needs of the displaced.
