RSF denies and announces an investigation committee

The Rapid Support Forces announced on Monday the formation of a fact-finding committee into the widespread violations that affected thousands of civilians in West Darfur state after they seized control of the 15th Infantry Division, accusing military intelligence of involvement in the assassination of leaders in the Masalit tribe.

On the fourth of this November, the Rapid Support Forces announced their control of the command of the 15th Infantry Division, located in the town of “Ardamata”, northeast of El Geneina, as the last remaining military sites of the Sudanese army in the state of West Darfur.

After the Rapid Support took control of the army leadership, it was followed by accusations of committing war crimes and ethnic cleansing that affected the Masalit ethnicity, and the displacement of the remaining residents of El Geneina who took shelter under the army command.

The violations that occurred in Ardemata drew the attention of the world, as officials from the United Nations, the United States, and the European Union condemned the events that occurred there, directing the finger of direct blame at the Rapid Support Forces, based on the accounts of eyewitnesses who fled the region.

A statement issued by the Support Forces spokesman said, “Based on the circumstances that accompanied the liberation of the city of El Geneina, the Forces Commander, Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, directed the formation of an investigation committee to investigate all the events and present its findings to public opinion.”

He stressed that the Rapid Support Forces will not provide protection to any individual proven involved in committing any violation against innocent civilians.

He accused the military intelligence of the Sudanese army of being behind the assassination of the leaders of the Masalit tribe, Mohamed Arbab Forsha of the Mistiri region, and Forsha of the Azrni region, Abdel Basit Suleiman, in addition to Mayor Al-Amin Suleiman, for their refusal to implement the plans of what he called the remnants and holding them responsible for the forced displacement of the civilian population with the aim of criminalizing the Rapid Support Forces.

He stressed that physical elimination is a method that the Sudanese Army Intelligence and its remnants have been using for the past thirty years, especially in West Darfur, with the aim of creating tribal strife on the one hand, and a wedge between the Rapid Support and local communities on the other hand.

On November 6, Mohamed Arbab, eight members of his family, and Abdel Basit Suleiman, along with his son and wife, were killed after a force affiliated with the Rapid Support Forces stormed their homes in “Ardamata.”

The statement revealed that the Rapid Support Forces possessed conclusive evidence proving the involvement of what they called the remnants in all the dirty deeds that took place in West Darfur and their endeavor to plunge the Darfur region into a cycle of tribal violence.

He talked about their forces making intensive efforts to restore security and stability in West Darfur, and pointed to the success of the second commander of the forces, Abdul Rahim Hamdan, in voluntarily returning large numbers of displaced people to their areas, providing them with the necessary services, providing protection, and fighting the unruly people who are working to terrorize citizens.

He urged regional and international organizations working in the humanitarian field to expedite the delivery of humanitarian aid to citizens, and pledged to provide all facilities and protection that would enable them to reach the affected areas.

He called on international human rights organizations and the international media to ensure accuracy and credibility and not to deal with the information they receive from one party, and stressed that their doors are open to receive any inquiries about the events taking place and to provide the required information, and that access to El Geneina or any area under the control of their forces is available to everyone. .
